11th annual ANZSOC Postgraduate and Early Career Researcher Conference
The 11th Annual ANZSOC Postgraduate and Early Career Researcher Conference will be held on 5 December 2017 at University House, Australian National University (the day before the main ANZSOC conference).
This is a great opportunity to network with fellow students, along with more senior academics and research professionals. It will showcase the innovative research currently being undertaken by students across Australia and New Zealand, while also incorporating expert-led sessions on issues of relevance to those in the early stages of their careers, including:
- Current and emerging trends in research methodology
- Publication, thesis and postgraduate completion
- Careers in (and out) of criminology
Registration and Abstract Submission
You can register for the PECRC conference on the by clicking on the Registration page. Importantly, registration is only free for current members of ANZSOC, the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences or the British Society of Criminology.
Those wishing to present their own research will do so in brief (five minutes maximum) oral presentations at the beginning of the day AND in a poster session during the lunch break. Please see the abstract submission information below for further details. As in previous years, delegates will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the best presentation from lunchtime onwards, with the winner receiving the Monash University Postgraduate Prize. The prize includes $250 and a certificate.
The deadline for abstract submission is 11.30pm 25 August 2017. As there is a limited amount of time allotted to research presentations, priority will be given to those outlining original research findings if a large number of abstracts are received. Presenters will be notified of the outcome of their abstract submission by 1st September 2017.
PECRC Conference Dinner
The PECRC conference dinner will be held at Parlour Wine Room, a short walking distance from QT, at 7:45pm. This is a great opportunity to unwind and network with postgraduate/early career colleagues in a less formal setting. Dinner is $50 per person, not including drinks.
If you wish to attend, please specify when registering for the PECRC conference. Please also email any dietary requirements through to the conference organisers. Limited spaces are available so get in quick!
